We build our own products and partner with teams who need a connected device shipped properly. The ones below are not concepts. They have their own storefronts, and you can buy them today.

How the work changed

AI moved the bottleneck. It did not move the hard part.

Engineering used to be gated by how fast a person could read a datasheet, write the boilerplate, and keep the docs from rotting. That gate is gone. What is left is the part that was always hard: knowing what to build, and knowing when a device is actually trustworthy. The same shift is running through the factory floor and the back office, not just the prototype bench.

Prototypes in days
Firmware, an app, and a working demo can exist before the first boards come back from assembly. We argue with a real prototype instead of a spec document, which means the expensive mistakes get found while they are still cheap.

The datasheet is no longer the wall
Protocol stacks, register maps, and vendor SDKs used to be weeks of reading before anything moved. Now that reading is fast, and the schedule is set by physics and manufacturing rather than by how long it takes an engineer to get up to speed.

A small team with a full team's reach
We run specialist AI agents for firmware, radio protocols, QA, and project management, and they carry the volume. A human still owns every decision, and nothing ships that a person has not put their name on.

The judgment stays human
A model will not tell you the enclosure cannot be molded, that the radio will drop packets inside a steel building, or that the feature you love is the one confusing your user. Hardware still answers to the real world, and someone has to have held the thing.

The same shift is coming for the products themselves. We design clean APIs, readable interfaces, and documentation a model can actually use, so what we hand you is ready for the tools your team will be using next year.

A product is only half of it. The line that builds it and the numbers the plant runs on are software problems now, and they are the ones nobody had time for before.

We build the factory, not just the part
Marking and labeling jobs driven straight from part data instead of a technician retyping a file. Traceability that survives the shop floor. Production and labor planning that a supervisor can actually keep current. The automation that used to be too small to justify a software project now takes an afternoon.

Processes that stay true
A procedure used to be a document somebody wrote once and nobody reread. We build them from how the job is really done, run every one past a reviewer before it ships, and update them when the process moves. An out of date SOP is worse than no SOP.

Handoff packages, not tribal knowledge
Everything a manufacturing partner needs to quote and build a part, assembled the same way every time, instead of living in one engineer's head and three email threads. The same discipline applies to what we hand a client at the end of a project.
And most of it never touches a shop floor

Every business runs on work that arrives as a document, waits for a person to read it, gets retyped into another system, and waits again. A mortgage application. A purchase order. An insurance claim, a permit, an RFQ, an onboarding packet. The queue is almost never the decision. It is the handling.

The file moves itself
Reading what came in, pulling out the fields that matter, checking it against the rules, and routing it to the right desk is exactly what this technology is good at. A mortgage file that sat three days waiting for someone to open it can be sorted, validated, and queued before the applicant closes the browser tab.

Exceptions get a person, the rest does not
The goal is never to approve the loan automatically. It is to clear the clean files so your experienced people spend the whole day on the ones that genuinely need a human, and to be certain the system knows which is which.

Every step leaves a trail
In regulated work, an answer without a reason is worthless. We log what was read, which rule fired, what was flagged, and who signed off, so the process holds up to an auditor and a person can always see why the system did what it did.

Numbers you can act on
Dashboards that pull from the systems already running the business, so a team is arguing about what to do next instead of arguing about whose spreadsheet is right.

We never let a product claim something it cannot actually know. If a device loses contact, it says so, it does not guess and call it good.

The company

Egghead Labs, Inc.

A studio is easy to claim and hard to verify, so here is the paperwork. Everything below can be checked without asking us.

Legal entity
Egghead Labs, Inc., a registered corporation. Not a trade name, not a side project.
Products taking orders
DailyDoseBox, TextMeButton, RVLightSwitch and VanLifeSwitch, and HR Violation Cards. Each has its own storefront and its own checkout.
Carrier registration
Egghead Labs, Inc. is the registered sender behind the text messages our products send, verified with the US mobile carriers. That registration requires a real business identity, and it is why a device we build can text a family member at all.
Intellectual property
Provisional patent filed in 2026 on the DailyDoseBox check-in system.
Client work
We also work as a contracted development team, under our own agreement and invoicing, for companies that need hardware, firmware, or cloud work they cannot staff internally. Client names on request, with their permission.

Jared Eggett

Twenty years in product development, most of it around kinetic energy-harvesting wireless switches. He has carried products from a sketch through tooling and into production at a manufacturing partner, which is why this studio talks about factory tooling and SOPs as much as it talks about firmware.
